The reserve lies just 270 km from the border with the United States in the Mexican state of Sorona.

World Land Trust and local project partner Naturalia aim to expand and connect the Northern Jaguar Reserve with land currently owned by Naturalia. This will increase the Jaguars protected area by an additional 7,700 acres and create new safe passage for an even greater number of species including  Puma, Bobcats, and Ocelots.

Home of the largest mammal migration on earth. The spectacle of Kasanka is witnessed alongside the first rains of the wet season when the migration of over 10 million Straw-coloured Fruit Bats descend into just a few hectares of Mushitu Swamp Forest.

The migration attracts a gathering of predators and scavengers such as Leopard, Crocodiles, Martial Eagles, Pythons, and more.

World land Trust with partner organisation Kasanka Trust aim to secure a 99 year lease of the 941 acre Mulaushi Reserve that directly borders the eastern boundary of the park.
