All-inclusive Full Day Fraser Adventure

Why we love Fraser Explorer day tours

Fraser Explorer day tours offer an excellent full day on Fraser if you don’t have time for an overnight trip (which we recommend at least!).

Super guides who live and breath Fraser will take the hassle out of seeing the world’s largest sand island by managing tides and traffic – leaving you to enjoy the island’s World Heritage wilderness and colourful history in air-conditioned comfort.

Lunch is a fabulous buffet at Eurong Beach Resort inside the bright and airy restaurant.

You’ll meet like-minded travellers, visit the top natural attractions – including stunning Lake McKenzie and cool off in the island’s fresh-water swimming holes – and all in custom-designed, four-wheel-drive coach comfort.

Whether you’ve travelling solo, in a group or with friends and even families, Fraser Explorer Day Tours offer a fun and relaxing experience for all of travellers.

Fraser Explorer Tours itinerary / What You Will See:
Departs Hervey Bay and Rainbow Beach | Departs Daily

Joining in Hervey Bay
Your adventure with Fraser Explorer Day Tours begins with a pick-up from your Hervey Bay accommodation (between 7.00am and 8.00am).
Passengers have the option of making your own way to our Ticket Hut in River Heads for check-in by 8.00am. Board the ferry and keep your eyes peeled for playful dolphins, turtles or the elusive dugong during your 30 minute cruise across the Great Sandy Marine Park. You will be met by your passionate guide off the ferry.

Joining in Rainbow Beach
Your one day Fraser Island adventure begins with a pick-up from your Rainbow Beach accommodation from 7:00am. A short drive has you arriving at Inskip Point for a 10-15 minute cruise across to Hook Point (southern tip of Fraser Island) and then it’s straight up Fraser’s sandy beach highway to some of the island’s most iconic spots.

What You Will See
Your guide is a Fraser Island expert with local knowledge and a passion for the island. On this adventurous day out, you’ll drive across sand tracks to explore some of the most beautiful, natural spots and listen to fascinating facts about the island’s history, fauna and flora.

    • Central Station – this former logging station that housed schools and shops for the bustling timber industry is now a tourist stop. Stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover the ancient King Ferns, towering Ghost Gums and Pine trees.
    • Lake McKenzie – enjoy a revitalising swim in the crystal blue waters and relax on the sandy white beaches… it’s picture perfect!
    • Seventy-Five Mile Beach – as you drive along this sandy highway, you may spot birds of prey flying above or humpback whales as they migrate past (between July – November).
    • You may wish to join the Air Fraser team for a scenic flight over the island – book with your guide on tour (optional extra).
    • Eli Creek – float down this fast-flowing freshwater creek pouring out 80 megalitres of water daily into the ocean.
    • Maheno Shipwreck – enjoy a photo stop at the rusting wreck of the Maheno washed ashore during an out-of-season cyclone in 1935 – it’s one of Fraser Island’s most recognisable sites.
    • The Pinnacles Coloured Sands – learn how these technicolour sand formations were created and the Butchulla legends surrounding them. We stop to take a picture as we drive along Seventy-Five Mile Beach.

Goodbye Fraser Island
At the end of the day, those returning to Hervey Bay board the 5.00pm ferry back to River Heads where our shuttle service will take you back to your accommodation (drop-off between 6.00pm and 7.00pm).
