Our Commitments

Aligning with the UN Global Goals

A Better World by 2030

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Guided by the Goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone.

"It always seems impossible until it's done."

Our Core Values and Goals

Tree Hugger Travel’s goals are purposefully aligned with the UN’s Global Goals. We have  identified well being, sustainability, health of oceans, life on land and tackling the climate crisis as areas we can make positive change.

Our core values and goals are aligned with the following UN Global Goals;

Helping Wildlife

By offering sustainable tourism options, education and promoting the cause of local wildlife rescue organisations and helping fund their operations through our travel packages.

Saving Forests

Forests are the lungs of the planet and by helping fund World Land Trust's 'Buy-an-Acre' programme we can contribute to protecting some of the most bio-diverse eco-systems on the planet.
All travel packages over AU$1000 will support World Land Trust.

Rescuing Reefs

By working with local operators that care we hope to raise awareness through education of threats to the Great Barrier Reef. We offer all travellers reef safe sunscreen and biodegrade-able products when visiting the reef and support local reef conservation organisations through our travel packages.

Wellbeing

Connecting with oneself and finding that inner happiness should be experienced by everyone. So we encourage travellers, the people in our network, our friends and our family to just that. It is a simple commitment that can make a world of difference and one which we want to consistently grow and evolve.

Community

We want to support the local communities you visit by partnering with locally owned tours and experiences, keeping money in the local economies. We also want to build a community, locally and globally, online and offline to showcase Mother Nature, her power, healing and beauty.

Charity

Our foundation is set on giving and this comes across in all aspects of our company. But we are committed to support World Land Trust and local nature conservation groups through travellers booking our travel packages. Learn more about Our Giving.

Good Banking

Tree Hugger Travel chooses to bank with Bank Australia.
Carbon neutral bank since 2011, refusing to put money into the fossil fuel industry and only invest in good. Bank Australia looks for investments that will benefit people and planet.
