Be a Marine Biologist for a day

Step into the shoes of a marine biologist and embark on a regenerative journey to the Great Barrier Reef with our Cairns Marine Conservation Reef Experience, guided by official Master Reef Guides.

This unique experience not only immerses you in the wonders of marine biology but also empowers you to actively contribute to the reef’s preservation through regenerative travel practices.

Join our dedicated team of Master Reef Guides and engage in meaningful conservation activities, such as coral health surveys. Learn how to identify and document the health of corals, contribute to ongoing research, and help restore the reef’s natural balance by identifying harmful Drupella snails and crown of thorns star fish. Your participation in these initiatives supports the long-term health and resilience of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

*Due to the technical nature of some of these activities, this experience is only suitable for experienced confident snorkellers and certified divers.

Features

  • Expert Master Reef Guides: Guided by world-renowned Master Reef Guides, immerse in an educational marine biology experience.
  • Dive into Marine Biology: Explore vibrant reefs and intricate ecosystems, experiencing the life of a marine biologist.
  • Eye on the Reef Contribution: Participate in coral health surveys and record unusual or special marine life sightings, aiding GBRMP’s “Eye on the Reef” program.

Supporting 'Save the Daintree'

With every Cairns Marine Conservation Reef Experience adult booking, we contribute $5 per person to the Gondwana Rainforest Trust’s ‘Save the Daintree‘ appeal.

This initiative focuses on scientifically assessing and acquiring high conservation value rainforest properties. Working closely with traditional custodians, the Trust ensures the protection and restoration of critical ecosystems in the Daintree.

Your adventure not only lets you explore, but also actively participate in preserving one of the world’s unique rainforests.
