Cairns Outer Reef Scuba Diving is an active day all about being in the water for your dive or snorkel adventure of a lifetime!

You’ll explore Cairns most spectacular coral formations and underwater gardens awash with vibrantly coloured marine creatures as you visit three different outer reef sites at Flynn, Pellowe, Milln and/or Thetford Reefs. Locations vary with the day’s conditions however each site is chosen for visual impact, ecological diversity and the challenge of discovery!.

With the most extensive range of dive sites to visit daily, divers of all levels from novice to experienced, will be excited by the range of experiences our magnificent sites present including drift and wall dives, bommie and pinnacle, coral gardens and swim throughs.

This is an example itinerary of a typical day

  • 7.30am: check-in at the Reef Fleet Terminal at the Silverswift Counter collecting your boarding passes.
    Vessel boarding commences at 8.15am with complimentary morning tea/breakfast served. Enjoy breads and muffins.
  • 8.30am: we depart the marina heading to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
    On the outward journey, certified and introductory dive briefings begin.
  • 9.50am: we arrive at first reef location. Divers gear up, while snorkellers’ site briefing begins.
    Get ready to view the beauty of this natural wonder!
  • 11.15am: Departs for second reef location.
    There is an option for introductory divers and certified divers to do a second dive.

  • 12.30pm: Lunch Time. A tropical hot and cold buffet lunch served in the air conditioned cabin.
  • 1.40pm: Departs for third reef location.
    Snorkellers are once again briefed as to the best areas to snorkel.
    Guided Snorkel Tour
    Option for certified divers to do a third dive or second introductory dive.
  • 2.15pm: Afternoon tea served.
  • 3.00pm: All passengers board vessel for final passenger count and we commences return journey to Cairns arriving at the Cairns marina approximately 4.30pm.

Medical and Diving Info
  • All passengers must complete a QLD medical questionnaire on the boat before departure. Some medical conditions may preclude you from scuba diving (ask us)
  • If you are doing an introductory dive you will be asked to fill out and sign a medical declaration form
  • The minimum age for diving is 12 years old with parental consent and completion of a medical questionnaire
  • Passengers under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian over 18 years old
  • A moderate level of fitness is required as this is an in-water based activity
  • Flying after diving?
    We recommended leaving a minimum of 24 hours after your last scuba dive before flying.
    Guests can fly and then dive on the same day – but not dive and then fly.

Cancellation by Customer (You):

  • If you cancel within 48 hours of departure: 100% fee
  • If you can 3 days in advance of departure: 0% fee
  • Unless otherwise stated all refunds will incur a 6% administration fee.
