Itinerary

Your guide for the day will collect you from your hotel in Cairns, Palm Cove or Port Douglas.

Cairns and Palm Cove passengers enjoy a 40 minuter drive along the Great Barrier Reef drive before our stop in Port Douglas to pick up some more passengers. From there you will  travel north to the Mossman Gorge visitor center.

Upon arrival you’ll be welcomed to the country by a Kuku Yalanji traditional owner with a smoking ceremony. Throughout this ceremony, you will learn about the traditional ways of the rainforest people who have lived here for tens of thousands of years. This experience will be complete with plunger coffee, billy tea, and freshly baked traditional damper for morning tea.

Following that, ride the eco-friendly shuttle bus up to the start of the trail to begin your guided walk through 3km of easy-grade walking tracks, with plenty of time for a swim along the way.

If you don’t feel like walking you can relax and take in the serenity of the Gorge and its pristine flowing water.

After your walk, or relaxation by the river you’ll then take the shuttle bus back down to the visitor center, where a delicious  lunch will be served.

In the afternoon, you’ll travel to a secret location on the Mossman River and the only jungle snorkel location in Australia. There you’ll be outfitted with a wetsuit and snorkelling gear, wetsuit shoes, and a snorkelling mask. After a safety briefing, begin exploring the river with your guide. You’ll walk through rainforest before swimming, snorkelling, and drifting under the canopy.

Following a magical experience exploring the aquatic life and rainforest we get dry, enjoy some light snacks before cruising to Port Douglas and then along the coast to Palm Cove and Cairns.
