White Water Rafting the Tully River is Australia’s most famous rafting adventure and a true highlight of Far North Queensland and the location for the 2019 IRF World Rafting Championships.

Be prepared for an action packed experience filled with fun, thrills and spills on a day you need never forget!

Navigating the grade 3-4 rapids is within the Tully Gorge surrounded by UNESCO World Heritage rainforest. Marvel at your surroundings but don’t relax too much!

Each raft is controlled by a highly trained river guide who teaches you the correct techniques during the day and who will share with you the history and wonders of this magnificent landscape which few get to see.

Your day will include the following highlights;

Departs/Returns:

• Pick-ups: 6:00am Cairns / 8:00am Mission Beach
• Returns (approx.): 4:30pm Cairns / 3:00pm Mission Beach

What to Bring:

• Secure footwear (or available to hire)
• Beach wear (board shorts and swimmers)
• Dry clothes, towel
• A GoPro style camera can be taken with helmet or chest mounts
• Hat and Sunglasses with secure strap.
• Please consider a Re-useable/Sustainable Water Bottle
• Please use Reef/Coral Safe Sunscreen (do not apply to legs for rafting)
• Daily medication

Rafting itinerary:

(This is an example itinerary of a typical trip)

*Mission Beach pick-ups commence at 8:00am

• 0600 – 0700 – Pick up from Cairns accommodation and travel on a scenic journey towards Tully.
• 0815 – 0835 – Comfort stop and opportunity to grab a quick bite & rendezvous with fellow rafters.
• 0835 – 0945 – Transfer to start point on river.
• 0945 – 1200 – White Water Raft the first half of the Tully gorge.
• 1200 – 1230 – Stop for a Delicious BBQ lunch.
• 1230 – 1430 – Raft the lower gorge to finish point.
• 1430 – 1645 – Change into dry clothes and board the bus where you can view photos of your adventure on the way back to your accommodation.
• 1700 – 1730 – Return to accommodation.
